Prof. Muhammad Yunus and Grameen Bank were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for 2006 for their work to "create economic and social development from below". Established in Bangladesh, Grameen Bank's objective since its founding in 1983 has been to grant poor people small loans on easy terms - so-called micro-credit - and Yunus was the bank's founder.

We are thrilled to have received close to a thousand submissions from more than 130 countries. Picking the top 100 stories from a range of great contributions was no small feat and we are happy to finally share the results with you! We believe these 100 photo stories capture and celebrate the diverse range of activities and passion that educators from around the world engage in and exude. We are honoured to include them in this year's edition of the book and are yet again astounded and humbled by the variety and beauty of this year's ideas and stories!
