Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is a two-time Academy Award and Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker. Her recent films include A Girl in the River: The Price of Forgiveness, Song of Lahore and Saving Face. Sharmeen has made more than a dozen multi-award-winning films in ten countries around the world, all centred around human rights and women’s issues.
Sharmeen has also worked with refugees and marginalised communities in Saudi Arabia, Syria, Timor-Leste, the Philippines and other countries. In 2012, Time magazine named her as one of the world’s 100 most influential people.
